Corey J. Mehaffy joined the staff of Moberly Area Economic Development Corporation (MAEDC) as the President of the organization in February of 2008. As President, Mehaffy is responsible for all economic development efforts including business retention & expansion, business attraction and entrepreneurship. From its inception in 1988 MAEDC has handled the economic development function for the City of Moberly and Randolph County. In 2009, Mehaffy led an effort to establish a three year partnership with Chariton County. In 2011 the organization expanded to add Cooper and Monroe Counties; and in 2013 Howard County joined the partnership with MAEDC functioning as the lead economic development agency for all counties.
Mehaffy is also the co-founder of Grow Mid-Missouri (GMM); an entrepreneurial development program serving 17 counties in northeast Missouri designed to assist entrepreneurs in reaching their goals. The GMM program provides online resources, coaching and mentoring; and an investor network to support entrepreneurs in their efforts to bring products from the idea stage to market. Mehaffy also participated as a contributing author for The Organic Entrepreneur Economy which serves as a guide for local government and civic leaders who are trying to make sense of entrepreneurship and how it can be organically rooted in their communities to accelerate business creation and grow the economy.
Mr. Gaines joined the staff of MAEDC as the organization's Vice President in September 2010. Prior to joining the MAEDC team, Mr. Gaines served as the Executive Director for Montgomery City Growth, Inc. Mr. Gaines has held management positions in varying industries including economic development, financial services and broadcast media. In addition he has been as entrepreneur having started and successfully managed three small businesses.
Mr Gaines has been very involved in the communities in which he has lived. He previously has served on the Board of Directors of the Jonesburg-High Hill Fire Protection District, the Montgomery County R-ll School District, the St. Louis Jaycees Foundation, as well as a former Chairman of the Board of Directors and founding members of the Northeast Missouri Development Partnership where he continues to serve as a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Gaines has volunteered as a youth baseball and basketball coach and is a retired high school basketball and football referee along with a college and semi-pro football referee. Mr. Gaines has authored several articles on business topics for nationally distributed magazines and has been a panelist for several discussions relating to business and economic development. He has also been a major market radio take show host dealing with financial matters and has been a sportscaster for numerous high school and college sporting events.
Before joining Moberly Area Economic Development in 2009, Tina was employed by General Electric for 20 years in various positions. Tina carries her producer license with the State of Missouri Department of Insurance in Property/Casualty. She also serves as an officer of the City Park Board and an active member in Huntsville United Methodist Church. She enjoys helping to make the community a great place to live and raise a family. Tina and husband Jeff live in Huntsville and have 2 sons.
Christy joined Moberly Area Economic Development in 2008. She enjoys working in the community and being involved in the process of bringing new businesses and jobs to our area. Previously joining MAEDC, Christy has been a Realtor for Century21 McKeown & Assoc. Inc. for the past 10 years. She enjoys working and helping families find their dream home. Christy resides in Huntsville with her husband and have 4 children. She is a active member of the First Baptist Church of Huntsville. She is currently a Westran R-l School District Board Member. She enjoys volunteering with the various organizations and sporting events within the community.
