Moberly Area Economic Development is partnering with Missouri’s Division of Workforce Development to launch a new program designed to benefit employers and workers in the MAEDC Region. The State of Missouri earlier this fall started a new program entitled Missouri’s Certified Work Ready Communities. On Friday, November 2nd at Boonville’s Industrial Council Luncheon MAEDC introduced this new program to key employers in the Cooper County Area. MAEDC will be contacting employers in our other partner Counties in the coming weeks to discuss this new program.
This new workforce initiative is designed to develop a partnership between local employers, local government and local education to better prepare the workforce of tomorrow for the opportunities coming. The program results in communities (MAEDC Region) becoming a Certified Work Ready Community. Having the community earn this designation will help existing employers locate individuals with the skills needed to meet their growing demands.
Below are web links to information highlighting the program.

Over several days next week we are meeting with each of the Superintendents of school districts in the MAEDC Region with high schools to brief them on the program and how it can give their students an advantage when seeking employment with local employers.
Over the coming weeks we will be sharing with community leaders and elected officials how they can support the MAEDC Partner Counties in being among the first counties in Missouri to be known as a Certified Work Ready Community.
