Moberly Hires Brian Crane as New City Manager


Moberly, MO - The Moberly City Council is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Brian Crane as the city’s new city manager. During a meeting held on Monday, January 11th, the city council voted 5-0 to employ Brian Crane as city manager, effective February 1st, 2016. Mr. Crane has served as city administrator in Holts Summit, MO since 2010 and previously worked as city administrator in Unionville, MO prior to Holts Summit. He has been involved in local government since 2004 when he was on the city council in Jefferson City.

Crane earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, and his master’s degree in business administration from William Woods University in Fulton, MO. Crane has a certificate for the Academy for Leadership Development from the Harry S Truman School of Public Affairs, University of Missouri, and is a Certified Municipal Official through the Municipal Governance Institute. Crane also received his certification as a public manager through the Management Development Institute from Missouri State University in 2011.

“The Moberly City Council reviewed and considered a number of outstanding candidates during the search for a new city manager and we are very pleased that Mr. Crane has accepted the position. He will provide excellent leadership for our community and will move the city forward in our efforts to improve Moberly as a great place to live and work,” said Mayor Bob Riley. A reception and introduction will be held in the coming weeks to welcome Crane and his family to the Moberly community and congratulating him on his position as city manager of Moberly.
