Moberly, MO – Executives at the Walmart DC #6077 in Moberly announced today that the facility will adding 45 new FTE positions to the facility’s base level staffing over the next few weeks. In addition, the facility is adding 4 new salaried positions this fall. According to management, the facility has hired 23 FTE in the last 5 weeks and plans to post additional positons this week.
According to management, the facility is slated to take on additional volume in February of 2016 which resulted in the need to hire additional associates and bring in additional equipment. Facility Manager Dennis McCarter added, “This additional volume is a testament to the quality work being done by our associates in the Moberly facility each day and it creates the need to hire additional associates and provide the necessary training in order to be prepared to handle the additional volumes.”
Moberly Mayor Bob Riley added, “We are glad to see this additional volume in the Moberly facility. Since making the initial commitment to MAEDC and the City of Moberly to build the DC in Moberly in 2001, the Walmart DC has been a great corporate citizen in the community. The company and their associates continue to make contributions to the community and the various non-profit organizations they support.”
MAEDC President Corey Mehaffy added, “Walmart has been an important part of the business community in Moberly for many years through store number 40. The additional investment from the company in 2001 with the construction of the DC as well as the over 400 associates and inbound/outbound third-party truck drivers working at the facility has resulted in a significant positive impact for the entire region.” Mehaffy went on to say, “it is great to see the company make additional investment and continue to expand their operations over 14 years later. The economic impact of this facility is vital to the area.”
