MOBERLY — Randy Asbury, president of the Moberly Area Economic Development Corporation (MAEDC), announced his impending retirement of December 15, 2023, at the September 19 MAEDC board meeting. Asbury was named president of Moberly Area Economic Development in 2022 after joining the organization in 2019.
A search for Asbury’s replacement will begin immediately with Asbury continuing to lead the organization during the search process.
Prior to joining MAEDC, Asbury represented Chariton, Macon, and Randolph counties in the Missouri legislature. He was also a Randolph County Western District Commissioner and the executive director for the Coalition to Protect the Missouri River for 15 years.
“As the dad of my four best friends, and the grandfather of three with hopefully more to come, Connie and I hope to spend a lot of quality time chasing kids, serving others, and pursuing ongoing interests,” stated Asbury.
“My nature is not to sit around so I intend to continue being productive while enjoying more time with my family."
“The opportunity provided to me by MAEDC leadership has been an honor. I wish them well as they find a capable replacement to lead the organization into the future.”
MAEDC promotes investment within Howard and Randolph counties for expansion of existing businesses, new business attraction, and community and entrepreneurial development.
